From AI Agent to Physical AI – Argus S5.3 Robots Deployed at LinkedIn
Two customized Argus S5.3 autonomous mobile robots have been deployed at LinkedIn headquarters.
For SMP Robotics, this deployment demonstrates a new role for autonomous robots: a mobile physical platform for AI that can move through the real world and collect visual and thermal information where it is needed.
Giving AI Mobility in the Physical World
AI can search, analyze and reason. But when the information it needs is somewhere else in the physical world, software cannot simply go and look. Argus can.
An AI or security system can request a high-level mission: Observe. Verify. Investigate. Patrol.
Argus handles autonomous navigation and movement, bringing its cameras and thermal imaging system to the required location. AI decides where to look. Argus goes there.
From Autonomous Security Robot to Physical AI
A fixed security camera observes the world from one position.
An autonomous mobile robot can move the observation point itself and collect new information when it is needed.
Detect → Move → Observe → Verify
AI does not need to drive the robot.
Argus handles navigation, obstacle avoidance and physical movement. Higher-level systems determine what needs to be observed.
AI determines what it needs to know. Argus determines how to get there and look.
Giving AI Physical Presence
The two Argus S5.3 robots deployed at LinkedIn demonstrate the physical foundation of this concept.
AI agents already use digital tools to search and analyze information. Autonomous robots introduce another possibility: AI can use a mobile robot to obtain new information from the physical world.
Software gives AI intelligence. Robots give AI physical presence.
The AI Detects. Argus Goes and Looks.
