SMP S5 Security Robot showcased at Exhibition Milipol Qatar 2018

DOHA: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani open Milipol Qatar 2018 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

Following the opening the ceremony, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister toured the exhibition’s various pavilions and sections, where he was briefed on the latest equipment and devices, and innovative services in the field of homeland security and civil defence.

The Security Systems Department of the Ministry of Interior also signed a cooperation agreement with Milestone Systems, a global leader in security systems, specialized in the development of camera and integration systems.

“One of the most important things presented by Directorate of Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) is a smart robot that can identify the places through computer and can walk 12km for 12 hours, and can identify any obstacle that can come in front of it,” said first lieutenant Mohamed Ali Al Mula from the Directorate of Information Systems at MoI.

He also said that the robot can guard the security facilities instead of persons. It is equipped with six cameras that are linked to the main monitoring room.
